The on-going Study of Adult Development, conducted at Harvard, is the longest scientific study on happiness. The study draws one all-encompassing finding-people need people. Or, as stated in the book based on the study, The Good Life, “Good relationships keep us healthier and happier. Period.” Barbara Streisand was right when she sang, “People who need people are the luckiest people in the world.” We will explore the tenets of tools from this study that will apply to children, gifted or otherwise. Even though children are not miniature adults, what are the takeaways from this study that will help us parent our children?
